What you get in terms of service when you stay with Simon and Joy should supercede your expectations by a mile. We've now stayed 3 times in 2 years and will definitely go again. The evening meals are like something from a gourmet restauraunt (unlike the slop our friends were served at the hotel they stayed in) and Simon and Joy are 2 of the warmest, genuine and friendly people you could want to look after you for a week or two. We've had the whole chalet for group bookings and also just as a group of 4 and the level of service couldn't be bettered. Thanks again guys, already looking forward to our next visit!!

This was my first snowboarding holiday so I was excited but a little apprehensive as previous holidays that my boyfriend and his mates had been on were 'roughing it' so I worried that this might be the same.... How wrong could I be!

On arrival we were greeted with the biggest slice of chocolate cake (woo!) and a lovely big glass of the red stuff! We were then shown to our rooms by our chalet hosts, Simon and Joy, where we found the fluffiest bed covers and soft warm towels. Each of the rooms was ensuite and all were lockable with individual room keys.

The food was fantastic, Simon and Joy are wonderful cooks! Their dinning table is something to behold as well (i know a bit sad but...) it was huge and all made of one piece of wood! Delicious 3-4 course meals were served along with what seemed to be an endless supply of red or white wine!

As well as the fantastic food, Simon and Joy also provided us with our very own Kitchen stocked with 'mid night snack' food and drink all at no extra cost!!

In the lounge we had a roaring log fire along with DVD/CD player... Karaoke Machine (!) and the biggest pile of board games you have ever seen!

After good nights sleep we would wake up to the smell of fresh coffee, bacon and eggs cooking downstairs!

Simon and Joy organised all our ski passes, organised hire of equipment and took myself and the other girls learning directly to the instructors.

The chalet was a short 5 min mini bus drive from the main gondola lift. For those that were keen to get up and on the snow Simon drove them up at 8:30 and the slower members of the group were taken up about half an hour later. Even on their day off they took us up to the lifts and picked us up.

The Applebee’s even provided us with our very own mobile phone for the week so that we could call them to let them know we were on our way down from the slopes so that Simon would know when to pick us up from the bottom of the lifts. One day he even came and fetched our equipment took it back to the chalet, we had fun in the Après Ski Bar and then he came and picked us up just in time to tuck into our 3 course evening meal! FAB!!!

I really can not stress how much fun we had with Simon and Joy, they joined in with our banter, fed us the best food we had probably ever eaten and made us feel so so welcome!

For me as a beginner who was initially worried about the whole 'snowboarding' malarkey they really made me feel at ease and gave me something to really look forward to after a tiring day's learning on the slopes!

Bloody Brilliant. Simon and Joy are the greatest hosts, making you feel at ease the minute you set foot on the place. My 1st ever snowboard trip and totally blew my away expectations. Great food and lots of booze!!. The customer service and attention to the 'little things' is what makes Orbelus so great. I recommend to anyone, planning my next trip back now!

Thank you all for a wonderful week, your hospitality really was outstanding. I've just got to loose those extra pounds now! As soon as I have time I will definitely send you a couple of pictures of Mackenzi on the ski system. She really had a fabulous time. We will have to go out and purchase our own now!

I am also looking forward to trying to recreate some of the fab meals. I hope I can do them justice! God bless

Simon, Joy & Richard the chef could not have made our stay any more enjoyable. Nine of us embarked on this holiday, seven adults and two children (8 & 12), we had the house to ourselfs, and the run of the house. Everything from transfer to and from the house, lift passes, ski hire and even lessens was arranged. Transfer to and from the Gondola every day by Simon was a joy. The sauna was always ready and the fridge always full of cool beer and wine, just help yourself. All Simon, Joy and Richard want you to do is come and have a good time and not lift a finger, and anything they can do to make your holiday better is never any trouble. It was my 60th birthday while we were staying, the birthday cake they had made for me was out of this world, and the bottle of champagne before dinner was a very lovely gesture, which shows what these people are all about. There is already talk amongst our group of next year. Thank you Simon Joy and Richard.

Tip top! Simon is a great host who excels at putting himself out for guests. Afternoon cakes were a highlight and enjoyed Richard's culinary delights. Chalet was clean, lots of room to manoeuvre, log fire, Wii and sauna all a bonus.

WHAT A HOLIDAY! This was an absolute gem discovered by my girlfriend, myself and our friends can not thank her enough. The slopes and snow were fantastic with the bus drop offs and pickups followed by a welcome of unbelievable cakes (thanks Rich)after a hard day of boarding/skiing. Food was of 5star level and service was far beyond expectations. The phrase 'sauna hot beer cold' could not be more apt. The local beer was brillient, we polished off 80 in one night (records?) Thankyou Si and Joy we had an unforgettable time! However, the only let down was the hosts football team of choice (chelsea - what were you thinking). ;) Editor's note:  It's Liverpool actually!!!

I can't recommend this chalet enough.  Joy and Simon are fantastic hosts/cooks/advisors/organisers.  We had a fantastic holiday and the food was amazing - both the vegetarian options (which I had) and the  meat options (which the other had and told me me were fantastic).  Furthermore fantastic news, they are e-mailing me the recipes:-) The hospitality and service are second to none.  I thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

 Bansko is a fabulous resort for skiing and looks like it will be well worth visiting in the summer too.  the village is lovely.

 Simon and Joy are two of the most genuine and warm people you have ever met.  Nothing is too much trouble and with children this is an added bonus.  The food is like a gourmet restaurant with the flixibility for vegetarians and children which is very important.  Imagine this, coming back from a hard days skiing, Simon meets you at the bottom of the slopes, then takes you back to the chalet where warm tea, an open fire and freshly cooked cake are waiting for you! 

Nothing is too much trouble for Simon and Joy and they make your stay truly remarkable.  When you read the guest book, you wonder where the flies in theointment are, trust me there are none - this is an incredible experience and we are coming back!
